Apple Pay

Apple Pay is a payment feature integrated into your iOS device that lets you add your First National Bank debit cards to make purchases at participating retailers in stores or in the app. Apple Pay provides the same benefits and protection as your First National Bank physical card. It is simple, easy and the fastest and most convenient way to pay!

You can use Apple Pay in stores on your iPhone® 6 and later models, and Apple Watch™ with compatible iPhone 5 or later. Apple Pay can also be used in the app with your iPhone® 6, and later models, iPad Air™ 2, iPad Pro, iPad mini 3, and iPad mini™ 4.

There is no cost for Apple Pay from First National Bank. An active data plan is required on your device. Based on your wireless plan and mobile carrier’s offering, additional message and data charges may apply. The account attached to your debit card will be applied for purchases. First National Bank does not charge any fees to add your cards to Apple Pay.

Apple Pay uses Near Field Communication (NFC) which is a short-range wireless technology that allows two devices to exchange payment information at close proximity. Apple Pay uses NFC technology to transmit payment information from your phone to the contactless payment terminal. Your First National Bank debit card number is never shared with the merchant. Instead, a Device Account Number is used to process your payment which further protects your personal information

Apple Pay is currently accepted in over a million stores. Apple Pay is accepted in grocery stores, boutiques, restaurants, hotels, and so many places you already enjoy. And, you can use Apple Pay to pay in some of the most popular apps in the App Store. Look for the contactless pay symbol or Apple Pay logo at check out.

Go to settings on your iOS device and tap Wallet/Apple Pay to get started. New devices will prompt you upon set up.

iPhone
  • Open the Wallet app.
  • Tap the “+” sign in the upper-right corner.
  • Select debit or credit card, press continue, allow access to camera.
  • Place card in camera window, verify card name and number is correct, press next.
  • Verify card expiration date and enter security code or (CVV) code on the back, press next, agree to terms and conditions.
  • Once the card is added to wallet, complete card verification by selecting to receive code by text message or email (confirm the last 4 digits of phone and email is correct).Select next to receive verification code.
  • Once it is entered your FNB debit card is ready for Apple Pay.
Apple Watch
  • Once Apple Pay is setup on your iPhone it is also setup on your Apple Watch.
  • Open the Apple Watch app on your iPhone.
  • Tap “Wallet & Apple Pay” and verify that FNB debit is listed under the heading “Payment cards on your watch.”
  • If FNB debit card is not listed it will need to be added under the heading “Other cards on your phone” section.
iPad
  • Go to Settings.
  • Tap “Wallet & Apple Pay” and select “Add Card.”
  • Select debit or credit card under add to wallet, press continue.
  • Place card in camera window, verify card name and number is correct, press next.
  • Verify card expiration date and enter security code or (CVV) code on the back, press next, agree to terms and conditions.
  • Once the card is added to wallet, complete card verification by selecting to receive code by text message or email (confirm the last 4 digits of phone and email is correct). Select next to receive verification code.
  • Once it is entered your FNB debit card is ready for Apple Pay. MacBook Pro with Touch ID
  • Go to System Preferences.
  • Select “Wallet & Apple Pay” and select “Add Card.”
  • Enter your card’s security code to add your credit or debit card affiliated with your iTunes account. Or, select “Add a different card,” and use your MacBook Pro camera to scan the card information.
  • Go to Settings.
  • Tap “Wallet & Apple Pay”.
  • Select the card you wish to delete
  • Scroll to the bottom and tap “Remove this Card”

Paying in stores
Apple Pay is the safer, faster way to pay in stores with your iPhone and Apple Watch. Quickly check out using the devices you carry every day.

  • To pay with Face ID, double-click the side button, verify with face id, then hold iPhone near the reader.
  • To pay with Touch ID, hold your iPhone near the reader with your finger on Touch ID.
  • To pay with Apple Watch, double-click the side button and hold Apple Watch up to the reader.

Paying in apps and on websites

Apple Pay is the easier, faster way to pay in apps and on the web because you no longer have to create an account or fill out lengthy forms.

  • To pay in apps and on websites in Safari on your iPhone and iPad, select Apple Pay at checkout and complete the payment using Face ID or Touch ID.
  • To pay on websites in Safari on your Mac, select Apple Pay and complete the payment using your iPhone or Apple Watch.
  • To pay on MacBook Pro, pay using Touch ID on the Touch Bar.
